Opening times..
Devon Badger Watch is open evenings, Monday to Saturday from April to October inclusive.

The generally mild weather and the badgers' continued high level of activity; from 2002 we will remain open during November. To start with this will be at weekends only. This is because although the clocks go back for us humans, they don't for the badgers. This would mean we would either have to start the watches earlier by our clocks, which is not practically possible for us, or start later by the badgers' clock. If there is sufficient demand however, we will try this on some weekdays as well and see how quickly the badgers adapt to the new time.

The start time can vary slightly throughout the year, but it is usually 7.30 pm.

We do not usually take children younger than 7 as they do need to sit very still and remain quiet for the whole time at the hide. The average time spent at the hide is 1¼ to 1½ hours but it can be longer, particularly early or late in the season.

Groups and Corporate evenings ..
Our hide can seat 23 people comfortably. For groups of more than 10, who book and pay at least three weeks in advance, a discount of 10% is available. The group organiser is responsible for making all members of the party aware of all booking conditions and advice given as below.

Exclusive bookings ..
To exclude any other visitors outside of your group, can be made at a cost of £186. For an additional charge we can arrange for catering for either;

a) a buffet meal on the premises, or
b) a hot or buffet meal at a nearby farmhouse restaurant if required.

Payment ..
may be made by either cheque or cash, usually in advance for a guaranteed seat on a watch. Sorry, we are unable to take payment by credit card.

Cancellations and refunds ..
Owing to the limited number of places available, for cancellations made within 7 days of the date booked, we regret that we can only give refunds where the number of places booked can be re-filled and may be liable to a cancellation fee of 10%.

In the unlikely event of a cancellation of a watch by us, a full refund will be given.

 

 

Where are we?
Devon Badger Watch is located just five miles north of Tiverton, approximately 25 minutes drive from junction 27 of the M5. For security reasons, easy to follow directions will be provided when a firm booking has been made.

When to book ..
Whilst bookings can be taken on the day, as places are limited, advanced booking is recommended to avoid possible disappointment
